Kilimo Trust (KT) is Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that specializes in the design and implementation of sustainable agribusiness solutions in Rwanda and across East Africa. Over the past 20 years, Kilimo Trust has worked collaboratively with agricultural value chain actors to co-develop interventions that enhance farm productivity, improve postharvest management, expand access to finance and appropriate technologies, and facilitate entry to local and export markets. These efforts are focused on increasing income and employment opportunities.

CALL FOR MATCHING GRANT PROPOSALS TO BE FUNDED THROUGH NAEB -PROMOTIN SMALLHOLDER AGRO-EXPORT COMPETITIVENESS (PSAC) PROJECT.

Kilimo Trust, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), through the Promoting Smallholder Agro-Export Competitiveness (PSAC) Project funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), hereby invites eligible applicants to submit proposals for Matching Grant support.

1. Target beneficiaries and geographic coverage

The call targets individual farmers (youth, women, men)cooperatives and exporters.

Every exporter of the target value chains operating in any district in Rwanda is eligible for matching grant support but for individual farmers and cooperatives, investments must be located within the following fourteen (14) PSAC project intervention districts:

  • Western Province: Nyamasheke, Rutsiro, Karongi, Nyabihu, Rusizi
  • Southern Province: Huye, Nyaruguru, Nyamagabe, Nyanza, Ruhango
  • Northern Province: Rulindo, Musanze
  • Eastern Province: Rwamagana, Bugesera

2. Eligible Value Chains:

Coffee, Tea and Horticulture (Avocado, Mango, Patchouli, Macadamia, Tomatoes, Carrots, Onions, Garlic, French Beans
and Chili).

Interested applicants are required to submit their proposals after viewing matching grant categories and their
ceilings 
through a designated online platform accessible via this link (https://r-yes.com/psac_grant/)
from 5th to 27th February 2026.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed for compliance with the objectives of PSAC project. All applicants will be given
feedback and successful applicants will be communicated on the next stages.
