1. Introduction 

Zipline Rwanda Ltd. invites your company to submit proposals for the provision and Installation of Standby Generator and an Accompanying Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) for Zipline facilities located in Karongi. 

2. Company Background 

Zipline operates the world’s largest instant logistics and drone delivery network, enabling on-demand delivery of healthcare, commercial, consumer, and agricultural products. Our operational sites require stable, continuous, and high-reliability electrical infrastructure to maintain mission-critical systems and ensure uninterrupted service. 

3. Project Scope 

Preparations are ongoing for the establishment of Karongi Site. Part of the requirements is to purchase a standby generator and an accompanying Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). 

Essentially, what Zipline is looking for is as follows;

  • Quotations for 100kVA , 120kVA and 150kVA generators 
  • Quotations for 250A and 400A ATSs 
  • Lead time for delivery upon payment. 

Tabulated below are the detailed specifications for both the generator and ATS.

4. Scope of Work 

The vendor will be responsible for beyond supply: 

  • Site visit and load assessment confirmation 
  • Generator foundation design requirements 
  • Installation & commissioning 
  • Integration with existing electrical system 
  • Cable supply and termination 
  • Integration with existing Earthing & lightning protection 
  • Exhaust and ventilation setup 
  • Fuel system piping 
  • Testing under load (full load bank test) 
  • As-built drawings 
  • Operation & Maintenance manuals 

4.1 Warranty Requirements

Minimum warranty terms: 

  • Minimum 12–24 months warranty 
  • ATS warranty period 
  • Battery warranty 
  • Availability of local service support 
  • Response time for breakdowns (e.g., 24 hours) 

PS: A site visit is required to better prepare your 

proposal. 

4.2 After-Sales Support & Maintenance 

  • Preventive maintenance contract options (AMC pricing) 
  • Cost of scheduled servicing (250h / 500h / 1000h intervals) 
  • Availability of spare parts locally 
  • Service team location in Rwanda 

5. Certifications 

  • Factory test certificates 
  • Certificates of services delivered elsewhere 
  • RDB Certificate 
  • RSSB & RRA Certificate 

6. Delivery and Commercial Terms 

  • Delivery timelines from LPO Issuance
