PRODUCTION TEAM CAPTAIN ASSISTANT - 1 POSITION
Grade: B3
Department: Mining
Job Brief: To support the Production Team Captain in managing miners, ensuring safety, and achieving daily underground ore production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily tasks for underground miners; follow up on production targets.
- Monitor safe work practices; assist in daily pre-shift safety briefings; report hazards immediately.
- Help maintain discipline, teamwork and professional behaviour among miners.
- Record underground mining data (meters drilled, holes, explosives used, ore moved) and assist in daily shift reports.
- Ensure tools/equipment are used properly and safely; report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Coach and guide new/less experienced miners; act in the Team Captain's absence when required.
- Assist with underground emergency response and know evacuation procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Senior 6 in any field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in underground mining.
- Honest, hardworking and committed to production and safety; good communication and leadership ability.
- Able to identify risks, guide proper equipment use, and comply with company policies and procedures.
