ABAHIZI SACCO NGOMA (ASN) is the Head Office of all Umurenge SACCOs in Ngoma District, merged in September 2025 . ASN is duly registered under RCA certificate no. RGDG013327 and licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) , invites applications from qualified, motivated, and experienced candidates for the following vacant positions:

HEAD OF INTERNAL AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE(1 POSITION) 

Reports To

Managing Director / Supervisory Board

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor day-to-day running of the Internal Audit & Compliance department
  • Establish the internal control checklist as per Central Bank regulations
  • Submit regular internal audit reports to the Central Bank as required
  • Advise management on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
  • Assist management in effectively managing the cooperative's risk
  • Review risk measurement and stress testing on future liquidity shocks
  • Oversee and manage all audit and internal control operations
  • Develop the audit plan and prepare and deliver timely audit reports
  • Verify that resolutions of SACCO organs and instructions from NBR/RCA are implemented
  • Report functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Managing Director

Qualification and Experience Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10 years of senior management experience in Microfinance/Banking
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in internal audit & compliance
  • Professional qualification in auditing is highly recommended
  • Several years of experience in auditing and thorough understanding of Microfinance Banking and accounting practices
  • Good strategic thinking with risk and control consciousness; strong decision-making abilities
  • Strong analytic skills and excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills; professionalism and integrity
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
