Rutongo Mines Ltd is a Tin Mining Company, situated in Masoro Sector, Rulindo District, Northern Province. The Management of Rutongo Mines Ltd informs the public that it is recruiting Internal and external Competent, Qualified and Experienced staff for the following position:

Job Title: Environment Section Leader
Department: Environment and Community
Reports To: Environment and Community Superintendent
Location: Rutongo Mines 

Job Purpose:

The Environment Section Leader is responsible for implementing environmental management activities in line with company policies, legal requirements, and sustainability standards. The role ensures compliance, promotes positive community relations, and supports responsible mining practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement environmental management plans and ensure compliance with regulatory
  requirements.
• Monitor environmental parameters such as water quality, air quality, waste management, and
  land rehabilitation.
•  Support environmental audits, inspections, and reporting processes.
• Raise awareness on environmental protection and social responsibility within the company and surrounding communities.
• Prepare environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with ESIA, environmental permits, and company standards.
• Supervise field activities related to environmental monitoring programs.
• Support training of staff on environmental standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate environmental considerations into operations.
• Performs any other task/s required by his/her Superior or and Management.

Qualifications:

• bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental management and preferably in mining or related industries.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Having GIS skills and its applicability is an added advantage

• Combination of office and field-based work.
