Terms of Reference (ToRs) for Hiring event facilitators

1.Background

 The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a Pan African women’s organization whose mission is to support girls’ and women acquire education for development. FAWE was founded in 1992 and its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya. FAWE Rwanda is one of the 34 chapters across Africa.

FAWE Rwanda was founded in 1997 by a group of Rwandese women whose common goal is to build the country and promote national development through girls’ and women’s education. Since its inception, FAWE Rwanda has grown to become a reputable partner and focal point on female education in Rwanda.

FAWE Rwanda intends to establish a pool of qualified and experienced individual consultants to provide event facilitation services on an as-needed basis.

2. The objective of this Request for Expression of Interest 

The objective of this Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) is to pre-qualify competent and experienced event facilitators who will be engaged to support FAWE Rwanda events when required.

3.Scope of Work

The selected consultants may be required to:

  • Facilitate workshops, trainings, conferences, forums, and meetings;
  • Moderate panel discussions and plenary sessions;
  • Support development and refinement of event agendas and session flow;
  • Apply participatory, learner-centered, and inclusive facilitation methodologies;
  • Ensure effective time management during events;
  • Promote gender-responsive and inclusive participation, including youth and persons with disabilities;
  • Support documentation of key discussions and outcomes, where required.

Specific assignments shall be issued through task orders or assignment notes specifying the scope, duration, deliverables, and facilitation fees.

4. Required qualifications and documents submission: 

  • Official letter to the Executive Director of FAWE Rwanda for expression of interest for this lot
  • Registration Certificate from RDB with core business in event facilitations.
  • Valid Tax Clearance from Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA)
  • At least 3 certificates of good completion of similar services facilitating events for NGOs, CSOs, government institutions, or development partners;
  • CV that demonstrates a Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in event facilitation, moderation, or training;
  • Ability to facilitate in English; Kinyarwanda and French is an added advantage
  • Experience in gender, youth, education, or social development is an added advantage;
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills;

5. PROPOSAL submission

The interested Firms meeting the above criteria are requested to submit their proposals in sealed inner envelopes. The following physical address of FAWE Rwanda Address: REB premises, Remera, B.P 6703, Kigali, Rwanda, and submitted by 19th January 2026 before 3 pm.
