TENDER NOTICE

PROVISION OF MEDICAL INSURANCE SERVICES

ABOUT KUMBUKA AFRIKA

KUMBUKA AFRIKA is a nonprofit, development organization working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi. Our Vision is an Africa where resilient communities develop strategic partnerships for their prosperity. Founded in 2023 we envisaged and created Kumbuka Afrika through shared decades of experience in equitable access to, and responsible management of, natural resources. We are a wholly local, globally experienced, team committed to best international practices from the field to the boardroom, to the political area.

Our primary focus is the implementation of ITSCI, the International Tin Supply Chain Initiative. ITSCI works in partnership with Government, industry and civil society to achieve avoidance of conflict financing, human rights abuses, or other risks such as bribery in mineral supply chains. ITSCI’s key reference is the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.

The International Tin Supply Chain Initiative (ITSCI) is a program designed to ensure the responsible sourcing of minerals, particularly tin, tantalum, and tungsten, from conflict-affected and high-risk areas in Africa. Established in response to concerns over the link between mineral trade and armed conflict, ITSCI provides a framework for traceability, due diligence, and risk assessment along the supply chain. The initiative operates in Rwanda where it works closely with governments, companies, and local communities to verify the origin of minerals and ensure compliance with international standards like the OECD's Due Diligence Guidance.
