RECRUITING 8 TEMPORARY TRAINERS FOR VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN AND ADOLESCENT GIRLS

  1. Background

Women for Women Rwanda is a national organization dedicated to supporting women and girls in Rwanda to break the vicious circle of poverty and social exclusion by enabling them to become socially and economically capable to lead themselves and their community to better health, education, and social conditions.

Women for Women Rwanda has been implementing different initiatives aiming at promoting women’s economic empowerment including supporting women and girls to acquire different employable skills and wants to extend vocational skills training in Rwamagana, Kayonza, Bugesera and Gasabo districts.

Therefore, Women for Women Rwanda is looking for qualified trainers/firms to train in the following vocational tracks:

  • Kayonza/Nyamirama Sector: 1 Trainer in Tailoring
  • Kayonza/Nyamirama Sector: 1 Trainer in Leather Products making
  • Rwamagana/Rubona Sector: 1 Trainer in Knitting
  • Rwamagana/Rubona Sector: 1 Trainer in Leather Products making
  • Bugesera/Mareba Sector: 2 Trainers in Agriculture and Livestock
  • Gasabo/Nduba Sector: 2 Trainers in Agriculture and Livestock
  1. Scope of Work and Objectives

The Consultant is expected to:

  1. Equip participants with vocational skills in one of the above vocational tracks to improve their livelihoods.
  2. Follow the training schedules as agreed upon with Women for Women Rwanda.
  3. Ensure good management of training materials.
  4. Regularly assess trainees and provide an update on their learnings.
  5. Lead and support participants (women and adolescent girls) to work in cooperatives and facilitate their cooperative registration process.
  6. Provide certificates after completion of trainings.
  1. Duration of the Contract

Successful candidates will deliver training to project participants for 100 working days, starting from December 2024.

  1. Deliverables
  • Conduct training to project participants and equip them with both theoretical and practical skills.
  • Measure performance of the participants by giving them monthly tests with a report to Women for Women Rwanda (using the format to be provided).
  • Ensure all training equipment and materials are well managed and well utilized.
  • Ensure the production of good quality and marketable products by participants during the training.
  • Other deliverables as per the Supervisor’s request as part of the effectiveness of the training.
  1. Trainer’s Profile & Requirements
  • Possession of a certificate in one of the listed vocational tracks from a recognized TVET school
  • At least 5 years’ practical experience in delivering vocational skills training to groups similar to our target group
  • Excellent knowledge of Kinyarwanda and English
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working under minimum supervision
