Description:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day security operations at Kagano, ensuring the effective deployment and supervision of security personnel, the strict enforcement of security procedures, and the prompt response to security incidents. The role is critical in maintaining the security of the concession area by preventing theft, unauthorized access, and cage tampering, while promoting discipline, accountability, and compliance within the security team to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and Guide Security Officers
- Monitor and oversee security personnel to ensure efficient performance.
- Train officers on proper interaction with visitors, vendors, and employees.
2. Maintain Daily Records
- Prepare reports on incidents, accidents, and security breaches.
- Record observations in the occurrence book or relevant reporting system.
3. Familiarity with Locations
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of the premises to guide and assist the team effectively.
4. Conduct Regular Patrols and Spot-Checks
- Perform routine inspections of all areas, including activity rooms, public spaces, and security sensitive zones.
- Assess security personnel performance and ensure adherence to protocols.
5. Assist the Security Manager in Handling Incidents
- Provide critical information and insights to the security supervisor.
- Offer recommendations based on firsthand knowledge of incidents.
6. Investigations and Interviews
- Conduct investigations into security breaches while adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
- Interview individuals involved in incidents and document findings.
7. Daily Physical Hazard/Safety Inspections
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve security risks.
8. Monitor CCTV and Alarm Systems
- Ensure proper functioning of surveillance equipment.
- Identify and respond to any unauthorized activity.
9. Assist Visitors and Employees During Emergencies
- Lead building evacuations and guide individuals to safe exits.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and escape routes.
10. Gather Information, Complete Reports, and Maintain Confidentiality
- Collect data from security personnel and employees regarding security incidents.
- Ensure reports remain confidential and accessible only to authorized personnel.
11. Defuse Disturbances Following Company Policies
- Resolve conflicts between employees, security personnel, and visitors.
- Apply company protocols to ensure peaceful resolutions.
12. Handle Interruptions and Complaints
- Address complaints from employees and customers effectively.
- Seek solutions that prevent escalation and maintain workplace harmony.
13. Escort Unauthorized Persons from the Property
- Identify and remove unauthorized individuals professionally and legally.
14. Assist Management in Training
- Recommend and schedule necessary training sessions for security personnel.
- Collaborate with management to enhance security knowledge.
15. Motivate and Coach Employees
- Encourage security personnel to adhere to company policies and best practices.
- Foster a positive and professional attitude among team members.
16. Answer Telephones Using Appropriate Etiquette
- Maintain a polite and professional tone when handling calls.
17. Develop and Maintain Positive Working Relationships
- Promote teamwork and cooperation among security personnel and employees.
- Resolve interpersonal conflicts to maintain workplace harmony.
18. Support the Team to Achieve Common Goals
- Listen to employees’ concerns and align responses with organizational objectives.
19. Conduct Risk Assessment of Assets
- Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.
20. Inspect Tools, Equipment, and Machines
- Regularly check security-related equipment for defects.
- Report and arrange for repairs when necessary
Qualifications:
- 3 years of progressive experience in security operations, with at least 1 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in managing security within agricultural, industrial, or large-scale property environments is highly desirable.
- Background in military, police, or private security firms is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in modern security technologies (CCTV systems, access control, incident reporting tools).
- Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
- Must always be available on-call for emergency response.
