1. PLANT SUPERVISOR (2 Positions)

1. Position/Job Title: Plant Supervisor

2. Job Grade: C4

3. Department: Metallurgy 

4. Reports To: Metallurgist Mine 

5. Job Brief: The Plant Supervisor Ensures that all mineral delivered to the plant is up-graded safely according to the Company’s standard and ensuring that all weights and mineral stock balances are correctly recorded and reported as well as supervising the mixing and packing of minerals for export purposes.

6. Responsibilities: The Plant Supervisor has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Weighing and recording the mineral received at the plant before treatment 
  • Weighing and recording the minerals received at the plant after treatment
  • Ensuring the correct weights and stock balances are recorded and reported
  • Taking daily samples from the mineral delivered by each Sub-Contractor and/or any other party
  • Supervising of the Plant Operators
  • Ensuring that all Operators are performing their tasks according to procedure and give training where necessary
  • Ensure all people working in the Plant or entering the Plant adhere to all safety standards and have the correct PPE
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good order and report any breakdowns to the relevant department
  • Ensures all tools and PPE required to perform the necessary tasks are available and in good condition
  • Assisting the relevant parties in the mixing and packing of containers for exporting
  • Ensuring that good housekeeping is always practiced within the Plant and surrounding area
  • Adheres and ensures that people under your supervision adhere to the Company work and leave schedules.
  • Complies and ensures the Team complies with Company policies, procedures and operating standards.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by the Supervisor and or Management 

7. Job Requirements: The Plant Supervisor should have the following education,

experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering/Material Science Engineering. 
  • 3 years of experience in the field, preferably in a Mining Sector.
  • Trustworthy and have sober habits
  • Basic mathematical and writing skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Be able to work within a Team environment
  • Professionalism, Positive Attitude and Excellent communication skills at least in English.
