Coventry University Group, a globally recognised UK institution, is expanding its presence in Africa through its Africa Hub based in Kigali, Rwanda. This hub plays an important role in building partnerships, supporting education programmes, and strengthening regional impact and will increasingly support a broad range of professional services functions across the Group.
We are now seeking an Operations Manager to become a key member of the Hub team, working closely with the Regional Managing Director and supporting the day-to-day running and growth of the operation.
This is a central and highly visible role within the Africa Hub in Kigali. You will be responsible for ensuring activities run smoothly, teams stay aligned, and priorities are delivered effectively.
As a trusted point of coordination, you will work with colleagues locally and internationally, helping to connect people, manage processes, and support the continued development of the Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main coordination point for the Hub, supporting communication and alignment across teams
- Provide support to the Regional Managing Director, including meeting planning, minutes, and follow-up actions
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office and activities
- Work with internal teams, partners, and international colleagues to support delivery
- Assist with financial administration (budget tracking, procurement, invoicing)
- Support compliance, reporting, and governance activities
- Help develop and improve processes and systems as the Hub grows
- Support events, meetings, and other key organisational activities
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and professionalism.
Essential:
- Experience in an operations, administration, or coordination role
- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and diverse teams
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing, evolving environment
- Basic financial awareness (e.g. budgeting, invoicing, or procurement)
- High level of integrity, discretion, and reliability
Desirable:
- Experience working in an international or multi-organisation environment
- Experience in a growing organisation or new office setup
- Exposure to governance, compliance, or reporting processes
