Medequip Ltd is seeking a qualified and motivated Logistics and Procurement Officer to support the efficient management of logistics operations and procurement activities within the company. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely delivery, proper importation, and cost-effective procurement of medical equipment and related supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Management

The Logistics and Procurement Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing logistics operations related to medical equipment, including:

  • Coordinating the transportation, distribution, and delivery of medical equipment to clients and partner institutions.
  • Managing the importation process, including documentation and liaison with relevant authorities for customs clearance of specialized medical devices.
  • Monitoring shipments and ensuring timely and safe delivery of equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare logistics standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols related to the handling and transportation of medical equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate logistics records and documentation for all shipments and deliveries.

Procurement Management

In addition to logistics duties, the officer will support procurement activities, including:

  • Identifying and engaging with reliable suppliers and vendors of medical equipment, spare parts, and medical consumables.
  • Preparing tender documents, requests for quotations (RFQs), and procurement documentation.
  • Evaluating supplier quotations and proposals to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers to obtain competitive terms and value for money.
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply and service quality.
  • Coordinating with the finance department to ensure timely processing of supplier payments.
  • Monitoring procurement activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, logistics management, and importation procedures.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
