Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled HR Generalist with strong expertise in contracting and construction to join our dynamic team in Kigali, Rwanda. The HR Generalist will support the HR Lead in driving our ambitious HR strategy, focusing on various HR functions such as employee relations, recruitment, performance management, renumeration compliance, and training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the construction industry.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Support with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax, pension, and statutory
  • Review, track, and ensure compliance of third-party and staff subcontractor contracts in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Verify, calculate, and validate employee overtime, and coordinate payroll
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor HR-related matters and resolve workforce
  • Administer casual and temporary employees, including documentation, attendance tracking, and payment follow-ups.
  • Assist in handling employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and investigations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on workplace issues and
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and performance
  • Facilitate and coordinate training sessions and development
  • Monitor employee performance and productivity, providing constructive feedback and
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and professional
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and company
  • Prepare and submit HR reports, records, and required
  • Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records and ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related
  • Additional HR certification is a
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in the construction industry and high level of integrity.
  • Proven track record in handling employee relations issues and resolving
  • Strong experience in recruitment, performance management, and HR
  • Knowledge of core HR functions, payroll preparation, and statutory
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and
  • Proficiency in HR Systems and administrative
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Kinyarwanda is a
