Role Purpose
The Head of Operations & Finance is responsible for leading the daily execution and scaling of Cléza’s Rwanda operations. This role ensures financial discipline, manufacturing efficiency, and organizational coordination to translate the CEO’s strategic vision into results. With a strong background in finance, operations, or FMCG, this leader will serve as the CEO’s execution partner, ensuring that people, systems, and capital are aligned for growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Translate the CEO’s vision into quarterly and annual operating plans.
- Lead business strategy development across production, distribution, and new market expansion.
- Supervise Cléza’s entire manufacturing and operational systems.
- Ensure company-wide performance is aligned with KPIs and growth targets.
Finance & Cost Management
- Lead financial discipline: budgeting, cost control, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Monitor unit economics, gross margins, and working capital.
- Oversee inventory planning and procurement efficiency.
- Support grant budgets, donor reports, and financial compliance.
Team & Departmental Oversight
- Directly supervise all functional leads (production, sales, marketing, HR, admin).
- Coordinate weekly ops meetings and staff performance reviews.
- Hire and mentor team members, fostering a culture of execution and accountability.
Partnerships & Communication
- Represent Cléza in key meetings with partners, donors, and stakeholders.
- Draft reports, proposals, and presentations for investors and leadership.
- Liaise with public and private institutions to support expansion and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in manufacturing, FMCG, operations, or finance-led roles.
- Proven experience managing teams of 20+ and leading multi-functional departments.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, supply chain, and production management.
- Excellent English communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience working with donors, NGOs, or impact-oriented organizations is an advantage.
