Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and statements of shareholders' equity. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements. 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and financial projections based on business goals, historical performance, market trends, and operational plans. Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed. 
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, performance reviews, and trend analysis to assess the organization's financial health. Identify key financial metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to measure performance, profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
  •  Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting. Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify control weaknesses and implement corrective measures.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and support operational needs. Monitor cash balances, cash flow projections, debt obligations, and investment activities. 
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, strategic initiatives, and business development efforts. Provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation to support decision-making and resource allocation. 
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Coordinate with tax advisors, prepare tax filings, and optimize tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance. 
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Oversee financial systems, accounting software, and reporting tools to streamline financial operations, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy. Implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and digital transformation strategies in finance functions. 
  • External Reporting and Audits: Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, investors, and financial institutions. Coordinate external audits, reviews, and financial disclosures to maintain transparency, accountability, and credibility. 
  • Management Reporting: Provide regular financial reports, management dashboards, and financial analysis to senior management, executives, and the board of directors. Communicate financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with department heads, communicate effectively, and foster a culture of transparency and teamwork.
  • Performance Evaluation: Track KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, encourage continuous learning, and participate in professional development opportunities. 
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or any other related field. Professional certification in finance and or Accounting. A master's degree is an added advantage. 
  • 10- 15 Years of Experience in finance with at least of 5 years in Leadership positions
  • Extensive experience in finance leadership roles, knowledge of renewable energy markets, strong communication and leadership skills, strategic thinking, and proficiency in financial management systems and software applications
