Title: Financial Accountant 

Report to: Finance Executive 

Location: Kigali - Rwanda 

Purpose: 

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will support the Finance Department in preparing a full set of financial statements in line with IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP). 

Role Overview: 

This is a full-time, hybrid role with Choplife Gaming. Based at the Kigali HQ, the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Choplife Gaming Dubai’s financials, bringing an international perspective to the role. They will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records while overseeing day-to-day finance operations and implementing strong internal controls. The role also demands navigating both local and international tax and regulatory requirements, providing strategic insights to management, and supporting cross-border decision-making. In addition, the candidate will engage with key external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and banking partners, ensuring effective financial governance across jurisdictions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. 
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and support external audits. 
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, filings, permits, licensing, and company policies. 
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and provide strategic financial insights. 
  • Manage treasury operations, including cash flow, payments, bank reconciliations, and banking relationships. o Implement strong internal controls, cost management systems, and process improvements. 
  • Advise management on financial strategies, risks, and opportunities to guide decision-making. Collaborate with departments to align financial planning with business goals. 
  • Perform other finance-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA or equivalent) – preferred 
  • Minimum 5–6 years of progressive experience in accounting roles 
  • Solid understanding of tax laws and IFRS 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities 
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently. 
  • Collaboration and ability to function as part of a team 
  • Time management, planning and organizational skills 
  • Results orientation/driven
