Position: E-tractor and e- scooters mechanics

Purpose of the Role

Seeking a highly motivated and skilled e-tractor and scooters mechanic with a strong mechanical and electrical background and technical expertise in vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and ensuring the optimal performance of e-tractors while adhering to safety standards. The role also involves performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to support the efficient functioning of our sustainable farming initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation & Maintenance, perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Safely operate e-tractors charging stations and battery replacement.
• Perform regular checks and ensure the e-tractors are in proper working condition.
• Conduct routine and non-routine lubrication and general upkeep of the e-tractors and implements
• Conduct routine and non-routine lubrication and general upkeep of the e-scooters
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with operation and maintenance manual standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of e-tractors, e-scooters and implements to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide regular maintenance and operational reports to his/her supervisor.
• Assist in training mechanization service providers on e-tractor operations and safety protocols.
• Work closely with the oversee technical team to address advanced mechanical issues.
• Diagnose both electrical and mechanical issues and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Maintenance and monitoring of safe operation of e-tractor attachments (implements, trailer,)
• Communicate with e-tractor and e-scooters manufacturers as per need.
• Perform any other work assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least a diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Driving license Category A or F.
• Proven experience on handling and using agriculture machinery including tractors and implements.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, involving electric mobility units.
• Knowledge of tractor systems, basic battery management and electric motor operations.
• Strong knowledge electric mobility and electricity in general.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Ability to work independently with minor or no supervision.
• Excellent understanding of tractor operations
• Willingness to stay in rural area i.e Gashora sector Bugesera
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in agricultural environments.
• Good communication in English, Kinyarwanda and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit to handle demanding tasks in outdoor settings.
