Job Summary

The Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination and monitoring of construction projects. The Construction Project Manager will coordinate Contractors and Supervisors on behalf of Kepler. She/he will ensure that work is delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with expected quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Infrastructure Planning & Project Implementation
  • Review and support the implementation of the Kepler 10-Year Master Plan
  • Coordinate infrastructure planning activities
  1. Project Coordination
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, supervisors, and relevant stakeholders
  • Organise project meetings and ensure follow-up on agreed action points
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among all project stakeholders and resolve coordination issues impacting project delivery
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status reports
  1. Construction monitoring
  • Monitor supervisor and contractor performance and resolve any issues or disputes
  • Review and monitor construction work plans, implementation schedules, and contractor procurement timelines
  • Anticipate potential risks and delays, and propose actions
  • Ensure that project activities are progressing according to approved timelines and technical specifications
  1. Budget Control & Donor Compliance
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets
  • Support financial tracking and reporting related to construction activities
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Flag budget risks and recommend corrective actions when needed
  • Support verification of completed works before approvals or payments
  • Coordinate the project handover verification process

Qualifications and experience required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Professional Certifications in project management or construction-related disciplines are an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years managing or supervising complex construction projects
  • Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, and construction monitoring
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and contract administration is an asset
  • Familiarity with sustainable infrastructure practices and environmentally friendly technologies
  • Previous experience in working with educational institutions or campus development projects is an asset
  • Strong organisational, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
