As part of its continued growth and commitment to corporate social responsibility, U.H Mining Company Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals to fill the position of Community Liaison Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary liaison between the Company and host communities, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities and community leaders.
  • Coordinating community engagement meetings, consultations, and awareness programmes.
  • Planning and implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Receiving, documenting, and facilitating the resolution of community grievances. 
  • Promoting awareness of the Company's mining activities and community programmes.
  • Working closely with government institutions and community representatives. 
  • Monitoring the social impact of mining operations.
  • Supporting land access, compensation and resettlement activities where applicable. 
  • Preparing stakeholder engagement reports.
  • Promoting peaceful coexistence between the Company and surrounding communities.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Sociology, Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement or CSR, preferably in mining.
  • Knowledge of Rwanda's mining regulatory framework is an added advantage. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 
  •  Strong report writing and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work in remote mining locations.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Good proficiency in both Kinyarwanda and English. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
