2. About the Training Program

Ethos Attorneys and Consultants is pleased to announce its Training and Coaching Program on Gender Mainstreaming in Development Projects, designed to equip professionals and organizations with the knowledge, tools, and skills to effectively integrate gender perspectives into all phases of development interventions.

This training responds to the persistent challenge that many projects face translating gender commitments into practice. It will enable participants to move beyond gender awareness to practical gender mainstreaming, ensuring development programs are inclusive, equitable, and impactful.

3. Training Objectives

The training aims to:

  1. Build participants’ capacity to integrate gender equality principles into the project cycle from design and appraisal to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  2. Strengthen understanding of gender analysis tools and their application in identifying and addressing gender gaps.
  3. Introduce practical methods for Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) and institutional accountability.
  4. Equip participants with actionable skills to develop, monitor, and evaluate gender-sensitive indicators and results frameworks.
  5. Support participants to design institutional action plans that foster long-term gender mainstreaming within their organizations.

4. Key Training Highlights – What You’ll Gain

Participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of gender concepts, frameworks, and tools.
  • Learn how to conduct and apply gender analysis within program and policy contexts.
  • Explore the integration of gender equality principles in project design, appraisal, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Acquire skills in Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) and equitable resource allocation.
  • Develop practical gender mainstreaming plans tailored to their institutional or project contexts.
  • Receive coaching and mentorship from experienced facilitators to support post-training implementation.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Ethos Attorneys and Consultants upon successful participation.

5. Target Participants

This program is open to professionals working in or aspiring to work in development planning, implementation, and oversight, including:

  • Project Managers and Coordinators
  • Policy Analysts and Planners
  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialists
  • Gender Focal Points and Advocates
  • Legal Practitioners and Advisors
  • Representatives of Civil Society Organizations, NGOs, and Development Agencies
  • Private Sector Practitioners involved in CSR and inclusive business initiatives

6. Training Duration and Delivery

  • Format: In-person workshop (with interactive and participatory learning)
  • Duration: 3 consecutive days (with post-training coaching sessions)
  • Schedule: 12th – 14th November 2025
  • Venue: Kigali, Rwanda (details to be shared with confirmed participants)
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (daily, with breaks for refreshments and lunch)

7. Training Approach and Methodology

The training will use participatory, hands-on, and learner-centered methods, including:

  • Facilitated lectures and peer learning
  • Group exercises and case studies from African and global contexts
  • Gender analysis simulations and problem-solving workshops
  • Practical sessions on gender-responsive planning and budgeting
  • Action planning and one-on-one coaching

Participants will also receive a Gender Mainstreaming Toolkit developed by Ethos Attorneys and Consultants to support continuous learning and institutional application.

8. Training Fees

The training is offered on a cost-sharing basis to ensure accessibility and value for all participants:

  • Individual participants: RWF 180,000 (covers tuition, materials, meals, and certificate)
  • Institutional or group enrollment (3 or more participants): RWF 150,000 per person
  • Students or young professionals: RWF 120,000

Payment details will be shared with selected applicants.

9. Training Location 

The training will be conducted in collaboration with a Hotel in Kigali which shall be communicated to the participants. Participants will need to be physically present at the training venue for the entire duration of the training.
