Reports To: Regional Business Manager 

Company Overview

Choice International Forwarding is a logistics and forwarding company specializing in facilitating the shipment of goods and merchandise from China to Rwanda. We provide end-to-end solutions including sourcing support, shipping coordination, customs clearance, and delivery to clients.

Job Summary

The Business Manager will support the overall management and growth of the company’s operations in Rwanda. The role involves overseeing sales and marketing activities, coordinating shipping processes and documentation from origin to final delivery, and managing staff to ensure efficient service delivery. The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Business Manager 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute sales and marketing strategies to grow the company’s client base and revenue
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners in China and Rwanda
  • Oversee the full shipping process from origin (China) to final delivery in Rwanda
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all shipping and customs documentation
  • Coordinate with China-based agents, suppliers, and logistics partners
  • Supervise and manage local staff, ensuring high performance and accountability
  • Monitor operational efficiency and resolve any logistics or service issues promptly
  • Prepare and submit regular business performance reports to the Regional Business Manager
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to support company growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in Rwanda–China importation business or international logistics
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, customs clearance, and import documentation
  • Proven experience in shipping sales, operations and business development 
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue Growth: Achievement of monthly and annual sales targets
  • Client Acquisition & Retention: Increase in new clients and high client retention rate
  • Operational Efficiency: Timely and accurate shipment processing with minimal delays
  • Documentation Accuracy: Reduction in errors in shipping and customs documentation
  • Team Performance: Improved staff productivity, engagement, and performance outcomes

How Success Looks in This Role

Success in this position will be demonstrated through consistent business growth at least sourcing 15 containers plus per month, strong client satisfaction, efficient shipping operations, accurate documentation processes, and a high-performing, well-managed team.
