We’re transforming Africa through innovative scientific training, technical advances and breakthrough discoveries!
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is a pan-African network of Centres of Excellence for postgraduate training, research, and public engagement in mathematical sciences. The network comprises six AIMS Centres in five countries (Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, and South Africa). One of these is the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre (AIMS RIC), a research-oriented Centre facilitating high-quality research by creating a world-class environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Momentum is AIMS’ flagship startup incubation program, designed to support early-stage ventures founded by African scientists, mathematicians, and technologists. The program operates in two tracks: Track A (Ideation) guides teams from problem validation through customer discovery, solution design, and business model development; Track B (Growth) supports ventures with existing products to scale through go-to-market strategy, fundraising, and investor readiness. Momentum combines structured workshops, hands-on mentorship, and a growing network of investors, industry partners, and technical advisors to build ventures that address pressing challenges across the continent.
This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and impact.
If you are passionate about supporting startup founders in building and scaling innovative ventures that tackle key challenges in Africa, consider this opportunity:
