Accounting Specialist

Headquarters/ Office of the Finance and Projects

  • Review, analyze, and validate financial records, reconciliations, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulations. 
  • Prepare and interpret complex financial analyses, management reports, and financial statements to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor and strengthen internal controls, financial governance frameworks, and risk management practices to safeguard church assets and resources.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting systems, financial procedures, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accountability.
  • Coordinate and provide technical support during internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations.
  • Conduct financial performance reviews, budget monitoring, and variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to management for improved financial stewardship.
  • Mentor and support accounting officers and finance staff by providing technical guidance, capacity building, and quality assurance in financial management practices.

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with an Advanced level in professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CPA or CFA is a must. 

-Master’s degree in Accounting or finance is an added value.

-Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or financial management.

Experience with accounting software and financial reporting systems.

Experience in non-profit, faith-based, or large multi-branch organizations is an added advantage.

Fluent in English/French in writing and speaking.  Skilled in Microsoft office Suite.
