In Rwanda, the bank now has 15 branches, including 9 branches in Kigali and 6 branches upcountry. (Muhanga, Huye, Musanze, Rubavu, Rusizi and Kayonza).
Bank of Africa Rwanda seeks to recruit well qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position within Head Office:
Position Title: Treasury Sales Officer
Reporting to: Head of Treasury
Location: Head Office
JOB PURPOSE
The Treasury Sales Officer will be responsible for driving foreign exchange (FX) business growth by developing and managing client relationships, expanding the FX customer base, and supporting treasury revenue generation through proactive sales, market analysis, and efficient currency flow management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. FX Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Develop and manage portfolios of customers involved in foreign currency transactions, including FX generators and users, to increase FX income and transaction volumes.
- Identify, develop, and acquire new FX business opportunities through market visits, prospecting, and proactive client engagement.
- Support achievement of treasury revenue targets through active client engagement and execution of FX strategies.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to enhance retention, deepen engagement, and maximize treasury revenue.
- Collaborate with branches, retail, SME, and corporate teams to promote treasury products and originate FX transactions across different market segments.
3. FX Market Operations & Liquidity Management
- Monitor market conditions to source foreign currency and support efficient FX flow management within the bank.
- Ensure optimal balance of foreign currency inflows and outflows to maximize spreads and minimize mismatches.
4. Market Intelligence & Pricing Strategy
- Analyze customer transaction trends and market behavior to identify FX sales opportunities and support pricing strategies.
- Track competitor pricing and market developments to support treasury positioning and decision-making.
- Prepare periodic reports on FX volumes, profitability, margins, and pipeline performance, with business growth recommendations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Treasury in line with departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- ACI Dealing Certificate or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a banking or financial institution, including at least 2 years in Treasury.
- Strong exposure to Forex, Money, and Bond Markets.
- Experience in treasury sales, FX business development, and client acquisition.
- Good understanding of interest rate and liquidity risk management (advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of FX market dynamics and treasury products.
- Proven ability in sales, business development, and revenue generation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and market interpretation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with branch, retail, SMEs, and corporate teams.
- Results-oriented, with strong focus on achieving targets and delivering business growth.
- High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
