1. Company Introduction
We are a dedicated social enterprise committed to producing high-quality super fine white and whole maize flour for the people of Rwanda and Eastern Africa. Our sourcing strategy involves purchasing first-grade maize directly from local farmers and neighboring countries, ensuring support for local agriculture. Utilizing modern milling techniques and adhering to the highest standards set by RFDA, our mission is to create a region free from hunger and to guarantee that every individual has access to healthy, affordable food.
2. Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production & Supply Manager to lead our production team. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of our maize milling operations to meet market demands. The manager will play a pivotal role in aligning production activities with the company's strategic goals, managing daily operations, and representing the production team within the broader organizational framework.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate maize supply and production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and supply timelines.
- Lead and motivate the production team by setting daily and weekly goals, assigning tasks, and ensuring team efficiency.
- Identify potential risks in production and supply processes, implement preventive measures, and troubleshoot machinery or facility issues promptly.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, challenges, and achievements to the CEO.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the CEO or his designee to support overall company objectives.
4. Essential Requirements
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience in production planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation.
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Academic degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in production management, preferably within the food processing or agro-processing industries.
- Proven ability to operate, oversee, and troubleshoot production machinery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
