Services Company Outgrowers Nyaruguru (South) - SCON(S) was established to support the planting of tea on approximately 3000 ha of land by 6,000 smallholder farmers. This is achieved through the provision of agronomic advice, Farmer Field Scholl Training, Finance, and production Logistics and it’s anticipated that our contribution shall have a significant systemic impact on the sector by providing at least 75% of the tea supply to Browns Plantations Rwanda Ltd.
SCON(S) is seeking to recruit a qualified, detail- oriented, dynamic and self-motivated individual to take up the role of Store& Procurement Clerk. Reporting to the Tea Operation Excellence Manager.
Position Summary
The Store & Procurement Clerk is responsible for managing inventory, processing procurement requests, and maintaining accurate records of goods and supplies in the store. This position plays a key role in ensuring that stock levels are maintained efficiently, timely purchases are made, and all documentation is kept up to date. The clerk will work closely with the procurement team, suppliers, and other departments to support smooth operations and ensure the availability of required materials for business needs.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To ensure that stocks are verified, received and issued though delivery notes/ERP system/ as shall be advised from time to time.
- To make purchase requests on time once a product has reached its re-order level bearing in mind the delivery lead time.
- Review stock movements and update daily bin-cards or any other approved documents used for issuing or receipts.
- Ensure all transactions are captured on official documents or system whichever is applicable.
- Jointly with finance carry out monthly stock take end do reconciliation immediately where stocks do not tally.
- Ensure all stocks are stored in accordance with safety and security standards to preserve both quality and quantity.
- Ensure orderly arrangement of stocks on their shelves and proper labelling
- All orders and issued must be fully authorized as per set authority limits
- Coordinate jointly with finance asset tagging.
- Ensure all transactions records are stored/kept safely and easily retrievable both physical and electronic.
- Generate and share weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual report as per templates advised by management.
- Carry out tool check.
- Coordinate regular inspection/ maintenance of company/equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to understand material needs and ensure availability.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Qualification and Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, supply chain, business information technology additional certification in procurement or inventory management is a plus.
- Previous experience in storekeeping, procurement, or inventory management preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and procurement activities.
- Proficient in PPT, Excel and word
- Worked any ERP system with stores module
