POSITION TITLE: HR Officer

Gasmeth Energy aims to reduce or remove environmental pollution using cleaner, greener gas, displacing liquid or solid hydrocarbons. Developing and producing methane from Lake Kivu in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. Distributing compressed natural gas (CNG) throughout the region.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The HR Officer is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives. They play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, training, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Draft job descriptions, post vacancies, and manage the recruitment process.
- Screen applications, schedule interviews, and participate in candidate evaluations.
- Conduct reference checks to verify candidate credentials and suitability for roles.
- Assist in onboarding new employees, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
Employee Relations and Workplace Environment
- Foster a positive workplace environment that aligns with company values.
- Support disciplinary and performance management processes.
- Assist with employee queries and escalate issues to the Line manager.
- Organize employee engagement activities and meetings.
Records and Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, attendance, leaves, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR procedures at all levels.
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation, such as contracts, ID badges, and disciplinary records.
- Stay updated on labor laws and contribute to the development and revision of HR policies.
Payroll and Benefits Management
- Support payroll processing by ensuring timely submission of attendance and leave data.
- Process daily and monthly attendance reports, resolve discrepancies, and report on them.
- Assist in managing employee benefits and resolving related issues.
Training and Development
- Coordinate training programs, workshops, and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain records of employee development activities.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support, including filing, data entry, and preparing HR-related correspondence.
- Assist in organizing training sessions and employee engagement activities.
- Any additional tasks assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in an HR role.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in online filing.
- Good understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
